November 15 and 16, 2019Holy Angel UniversityAngeles City, Pampanga
The Ramon V. Del Rosario College of Business (RVRCOB) of De La Salle University (DLSU), in partnership with the Holy Angel University (HAU) and Philippine Academy of Management (PAoM), will hold the seventh installment of the National Business and Management Conference (NBMC) this November at Angeles City, Pampanga.
The NBMC is held annually and takes a look at the recent trends and patterns in the Philippine business and management landscape. This is done through plenary sessions, panel discussions, and research parallel sessions, to name a few. NBMC aims to provide a venue for faculty members and graduate students of Philippine business schools to engage in scholarly research and undergo a presentation and critique of their ideas.
On its seventh year, the NBMC focuses on the role of business and management in national sustainable development. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) were born at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro in 2012. Its objective was to produce a set of global goals that tackle the environmental, political, and economic challenges facing the world.
The SDGs replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which started a global effort in 2000 to tackle the indignity of poverty. The MDGs established measurable, universally agreed objectives for tackling extreme poverty and hunger, preventing deadly diseases, and expanding primary education to all children, among others. The SDGs are a bold commitment to finish what was started by the MDGs and tackle some of the more pressing challenges facing the world. All 17 SDGs are interconnected—this means that the success in one goal affects the success for the other goals.
This November 2019, the National Business and Management Conference centers its theme around the SDGs and the role of business and management in sustainable development. Sustainable development encompasses several areas such as people, planet, prosperity, partnership, and peace. Amid these areas, business and management has essential roles to fill to become positive catalysts for social, economic, and environmental change.
In line with the theme, the conference accepts research papers and poster presentations on the following areas:
• Accountancy• Agribusinesses• Business ethics• Business innovation• Commercial law• Corporate governance• Corporate social responsibility• Corporate sustainability• Entrepreneurship• Family business management• Financial management• Hospitality management• Human resource management• Humanistic management• Information technology• International business• Marketing management• Responsible management education• Sports management• Strategic management• Sustainable development• Sustainable tourism
