COVID-19 PPE Order
Thank you for reaching out to Geekspace Gwinnett for your PPE needs. We are a local maker space located in Suwanee, GA. Previously we were self-funding our endeavors to create protective equipment. Now, through a generous grant from Jackson EMC Foundation, we are able to continue making and donating protective equipment to healthcare workers in Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Franklin, Gwinnett, Hall, Jackson, Lumpkin, Madison, and Oglethorpe counties.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES AND REPRESENTATIONSDuring this time of national emergency amidst the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, we volunteers have heeded the calls for help from hospitals and health care personnel (“HCP”) who are on the “front lines” of treatment without an adequate supply of available Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). This package contains homemade masks/face shields which we have created for the use of HCPs during this shortage of PPE, as set forth on the CDC webpage entitled “Strategies for Optimizing the Supply of Facemasks” (“CDC Webpage”). In the section on “Crisis Capacity Strategies,” the CDC Webpage states:When No Facemasks Are Available, Options Include . . . Healthcare personnel (HCP) use of homemade masks: In settings where facemasks are not available, HCP might use homemade masks (e.g., bandana, scarf) for care of patients with COVID-19 as a last resort. However, homemade masks are not considered PPE, since their capability to protect HCP is unknown. Caution should be exercised when considering this option. Homemade masks should ideally be used in combination with a face shield that covers the entire front (that extends to the chin or below) and sides of the face. The masks/face shields in this package have not been created in accordance with standards or regulations applicable to PPE, but were prepared for HCP under the unique circumstances currently faced.THE MAKERS OF THESE MASKS/FACE SHIELDS MAKE NO WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ARISING FROM COURSE OF PERFORMANCE, COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE OF TRADE, ANY OBLIGATION, LIABILITY, RIGHT, CLAIM OR REMEDY EQUIVALENT TO A WARRANTY (WHETHER SOUNDING IN CONTRACT OR TORT), OR OF THE MERCHANTABILITY, SAFETY, PROTECTIVE ABILITY, OR SUITABILITY OF THESE MASKS FOR USE BY ANY HCP OR OTHER PERSON FOR ANY PURPOSE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE PURPOSE OF AVOIDANCE OF COVID-19 INFECTION. Any Person who chooses to accept and use these masks waives and agrees not to make any claim against any person or group for any failure or unsuitability of these masks for any purpose. *
