February 21st | 12:30-1:20Description: The term “multiliteracies” refers to plurality and diversity - the plurality and diversity of modes (visual, oral, written, gestures, etc.), of languages (bi-plurilingualism), of situations, contexts, practices, as well as technologies. Its rich theoretical framing encourages a view of “language” as situated multimodal social practices and of learners not as “decoders of language” but rather as “designers of meaning.” We look forward to both discussing the multiliteracies approach and connecting with colleagues and friends in the Winter meeting of the Language Pedagogy Circle.
