CofC Informal Recruitment Spring 2018

WELCOME! We are very excited you are interested in the informal recruitment process this Spring 2018. The process of informal recruitment is different from formal recruitment during the fall. Each sorority/chapter has their own process of informal recruitment, some chapters are publicly looking for new members and others are invite only into their chapter. By signing up for informal recruitment it DOES NOT guarantee that you will receive a bid, this form you are filling out just means that their contact information will be passed on to the chapters that are participating in informal recruitment this Spring 2018. It's also important to note that not all organizations will participate in informal recruitment. If you have any further questions feel free to email

ACADEMIC RECORD RELEASE: I understand that to apply for recruitment, I must be a regularly enrolled, full-time student in good standing with the College of Charleston. I authorize the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life to verify my academic eligibility. I also understand that my academic information will be released to the organization that I join during the remainder of my undergraduate career and by agreeing to these terms I have provided a waiver under FERPA.
Note: Each sorority at the College of Charleston has different minimum GPA requirements. Any applicant with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or below will be contacted by the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life staff to discuss their options.

HAZING POLICY: I understand and will adhere to the following policy as a condition of membership in a Greek organization: The College of Charleston expects that all members of all recognized student organizations will observe and fully comply with the State of South Carolina Education Code and State Statute requirements on hazing. In addition, all students are expected to adhere to regulations set forth by their respective (Inter) National fraternities, IFC, NPHC, and NPC, and school policies concerning practices commonly referred to as hazing. The College of Charleston Student Handbook states: Hazing, defined as an act which endangers the mental or physical health or safety of a student, which subjects a student to harassment, ridicule, intimidation, physical exhaustion, abuse, or mental distress, or which destroys or removes public or private property, for the purpose of initiation, admission into, affiliation with, or as a condition for continued membership in a group or organization. The express or implied consent of the victim will not be a defense. Apathy and/or acquiescence in the presence of hazing are not neutral acts; they are violations of this rule. I will contact the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life if I have any questions about the hazing policy or witness or experience hazing of any kind.

INFORMATION DISCLOSURE: By clicking "save/submit" below, I agree to the terms listed above and allow my registration information to be made available to the College of Charleston's Greek chapters as part of the recruitment process.
