The Reforest Fest is a tree planting celebration like no other, combining music, food, and reconnection to each other and the planet. Our team is made up of Greenpop's long-term staff and contractors, plus amazing volunteers (possibly you!). The team work hard to run a smooth and slick event - it includes long shifts, late nights and a lot of dedication... but also lots of fun! We're looking for hard working volunteer team members who are willing to get really stuck in and help us make this a success.
To be selected as a volunteer you will need to be available before and after these dates - see below.
You can volunteer for the following:
1. Pre-production Volunteering: 29 March - 2 April 2026 - Please note applicants who apply for both pre-production and weekend volunteering hold preference.
- Set-up and build of event (Set-up, decor and building)
- A core build team arrive on 29th, other volunteers must must arrive between 30th and 2nd to help with the set up
- Volunteers who join us for the pre-production must also remain to help for the festival weekend period if they are staying for the festival
and/or
2. Reforest Fest Weekend Volunteering: 2 - 7 April 2026
- Be part of the festival management team in various roles
- Must arrive at the very latest by 15:00 the afternoon of Thursday 2 April as we will have a 17:00 briefing. This is NB.
- Friday briefings start in the early morning. We will not be accepting people that can only arrive on the Friday unless agreed with Claudia, our Events Manager
- Volunteers must be present during the whole period
- Must stay until at least Tuesday 7 April at 14:00 to assist with the strike of the event (strike team ideally stays longer until the end of the day on Tuesday)
If you have further capacity to volunteer prior to these dates, mention dates and your availability in hours per week, in your application form and areas of interest. We have ad hoc roles that we need help with in the months prior too.

We will select your role based on the skills and experience you include on your application.
Note for Planting Team: only people who have been on our planting team with Greenpop at Reforest Fest, Eden or in Cape Town, or who have planted with Greenpop more than twice before, will be eligible. If you do not have this experience, do not apply to be a part of the planting team.
Other teams may not get to join the planting day at the fest as we have so much to do, but we will try to arrange a team planting session for those who'd like to plant at a later stage.
Volunteer team members agree to the following:
- Volunteering in an unpaid voluntary capacity (we have a few paid roles for managers)
- Bringing your energy, determination, enthusiasm, flexibility, resilience, resourcefulness, and an ethic of hard work
- To being as flexible as possible and being prepared to adapt to changes that may have to be made right up until the festival starts
- Arriving in good time to set up your tent and get organised. By latest 15:00 Thursday 2 April 2026
- Arranging your own transport to the festival and back (Bodhi Khaya is about 2.5 hours from Cape Town between Stanford and Gansbaai)
- Bringing your own tent and sleeping gear
- Bringing a fresh face and a great attitude!
As a volunteer team member you will receive the following:
- Meals during your time as a volunteer at the festival (all vegetarian/vegan)
- A team shirt (if we manage to arrange funds to make these)
- A certificate, highlighting your participation after the event, if requested
- Reference letter, if requested
Being part of the team is seriously hard work... but lots of fun too. We're looking for people who like getting stuck in, roughing it a bit, working late, being part of a tight team and having a laugh while doing it.
