Spaces are limited so we encourage early applications. Each leader selected will receive a small grant for their GSA to use in the upcoming school year if they attend at least 4 out of 6 of the meetings.
The council will also have the opportunity to lead a presentation at the end of September to students and educators about allyship and other topics of their choice at GLSEN Washington's Ally Week Summit. The summit will provide LGBTQ allies and students resources on how to advocate for, support, and include the LGBTQ community in their schools.
The program is entirely free and will take place July-September. Meetings will be held in the Seattle area (locations TBA to selected applicants). Financial assistance for transportation can be arranged on an as-needed basis (please inquire with our program coordinator). Meetings will be held every 2 weeks and take place in the evening (see schedule below).
Applications close Monday, June 25th. Selected students will be notified the week of June 25th.
