General Eligibility Criteria
Organizations hosting a Pride festival or Pride event between May 1st, 2026, and April 30th, 2027 within the province of Manitoba.
Organizations or community groups whose mandate, programs, or services are focused on the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Where a local organization is supporting or collaborating with a group of community members in hosting a festival or event, the work must be clearly connected to and involve members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Pride is defined as any public or semi-public gathering led by and for people of 2SLGBTQ+ communities that promotes visibility and inclusion. Such gatherings take many forms, including but not limited to a parade, march, rally, festival, as well as events reflecting varying cultural practices such as pageants, traditional dance, ceremonies, and storytelling. A Pride organization is one that produces Pride events.

Funding Priority
Priority in grant allocation will be given to Pride or grassroots 2SLGBTQ+ community groups based on, but not limited to, the following criteria:
Two-Spirit/Indigenous programming
Rural, remote, or northern communities
New/startup Pride or grassroots 2SLGBTQ+ organizations or events
Increasing community safety and security at events
Organization training, education, or capacity building
2SLGBTQ+ youth-specific programming
Increasing event accessibility
Funding to hire grant writer to aid in organization capacity building, event creation or expansion
Size or reach of 2SLGBTQ+ focused event
Sustainability initiatives
Ineligible Expenses
Salaries, allowances, honoraria, or benefits paid to volunteer members of your organization or its Board of Directors or other governing body.
General office materials and supplies that are not used in part of the specific event or project.
Capital expenditures, including construction or renovation costs of any buildings or property.
Budget deficits, debt or loan reduction, or organizational reserves.
Individual benefit initiatives, such as scholarships.
Application Review and Grant Disbursement Process
Upon receipt of a grant application, the MPA team will review it and communicate with you if there are any issues identified or changes required.
Following the submission deadline, your application is reviewed by an MPA committee that assesses the application based on the eligibility criteria above. If your application is approved for funding, you will be notified and provided with a funding agreement to be signed and returned with your organization’s banking information.
Funding will be delivered by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) from Pride Winnipeg upon completion of the funding agreement and any requested documents.
Reporting and Accountability
Prior to the release of funds, grant recipients are to sign a funding agreement that outlines expectations, requirements, and responsibilities.
Grant recipients are required to keep track of invoices and other documentation, including itemized receipts for all expenses incurred, to be submitted to MPA within 60 days of the event occurring.
For reporting, grant recipients will be required to complete a short form detailing how the funds were spent, the impact of the funding, how the funding helped grow the Pride movement in your community, and any feedback that you may want to share for future grant programs.
Any remaining grant funds not used must be returned to MPA within 60 days of the date the event was scheduled to occur.
