The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) is an award-winning worker-led human rights organization based in Immokalee, Florida, recognized for its impact in combatting abuses in the agriculture industry from wage theft and dangerous working conditions to sexual assault and forced labor. We are hiring interns for the Spring 2025 season!

This internship is based in Immokalee, FL. Ideal candidates are highly responsible, work well in teams as part of a fast-paced environment, and committed to advancing the CIW’s movement for Fair Food. Exact internship dates are determined on an individual basis, though applicants should be prepared to commit to a period of 2-4 months. Interns are provided a modest bi-weekly stipend and free housing.

Internship Responsibilities *
As an intern you will...
  • Assist with office tasks such as answering phones, copying, databasing, mail, and accounting 
  • Provide on-the-ground support to the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (translation, technical assistance, driving, etc.) 
  • Support with action, event, and mobilization logistics 
  • Learn first-hand about the Campaign for Fair Food, the Fair Food Program, sweatshop conditions and forced labor in the fields, etc.
  • Create campaign strategy with a team of farmworkers and student/faith based organizers 
  • Develop a wide range of organizing skills such as coalition building, campaigning, media work, materials production, database management, mobilization planning, and fundraising 

Ideal candidates posses a...
  • Strong commitment to social and economic justice and working as part of a collective 
  • Prior organizing experience and/or willingness to learn
  • Conversational Spanish or willingness to learn Spanish 
  • Prior experience living in or working with immigrant communities 
  • Willingness to work long and unpredictable hours, including late nights and weekends 
  • Self-motivated and skilled at juggling multiple tasks 
  • Basic computer proficiency and communication skills 
  • Availability of at least 2-4 months to live and work in Immokalee, FL
