Number of people you are responding for:
DREAMING UP THE HIGH HOLY DAYS: Help us understand what you love about the holidays.
What are your favorite moments during High Holy Day services? What feels indispensable to you about the High Holy Days?
TECHNOLOGY FOR SERVICES: We are considering a variety of options for technology for observing Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur together as a community for youth, families, and adults. How would you want to connect with JCOGS and our members during the holidays?
Please check all you would want to participate in:
Interactive Zoom services (participants see each other, similar to our Friday night services)
Live broadcast service (only see the leaders)
Telephone dial-in (especially for those who have limited internet access)
In-person gatherings, with social distancing (as available)
I plan to do my own holiday experiences
If you indicated above that you have an interest in attending remote services, do you require any technological assistance in becoming able to participate or view online services? We will do our best to support you.
MAHZOR / HIGH HOLY DAY PRAYER BOOK
For only services, would you prefer to use:
A physical mahzor/High Holy Day prayerbook
An online version
A mahzor/High Holy Day prayerbook that you already own
POSSIBLE IN-PERSON SERVICES: In thinking forward to the High Holy Days we have been considering options to provide seating indoors or outdoors for possible, select services, with social distance spacing between members, mask wearing, no group singing (singing is a super-spreader of the virus), abbreviated services, no bathroom use, for older youth and adults only, and limiting capacity per state guidelines with regular pre- and post-services sanitation. Everyone will continue to have the option of attending virtually, whether or not we proceed with this plan.
Given these parameters, would you gather for services indoors?
Not in a million years
Given these parameters, if outdoor seating were available, with overhead protection from sun and rain, would you gather for services outdoors?
Not in a million years
SECOND DAY ROSH HASHANAH: For the second day of Rosh Hashanah, we are considering offering three outdoor in-person services of Shofar and Tashlikh by the water in several locations with Rabbi David leading each one at various times throughout the day and following all safety protocols.
