Washington Parish School System (WPSS) is seeking input on the local portion of the school system's Pupil Progression Plan. The Pupil Progression Plan (PPP) is a foundational framework adopted by each Local Education Agency (LEA) that aligns with State laws and BESE policies. It defines placement, promotion, retention, and grading policies for students. The PPP includes
State policies in black ink and
local policies (WPSS policies) in blue ink; the blue sections are open for suggestions for consideration of change. Please ensure suggestions comply with local, state, and federal laws and policies prior to submission.
In your suggestion, include reference to current PPP policy, page number in the current PPP, and the suggestions for consideration.
Following this suggestion period, the suggestions will be taken into consideration for revisions to the 26-27 PPP. In the summer of 2026, the 26-27 PPP will be open for public review of any changes that were made. Following the final opening for public review, the proposed 26-27 PPP will be presented to the Washington Parish School Board for consideration by the committee as a whole at a public school board meeting.
