The scholarship survey is now open and you can complete it anytime between now and May 20!  If you have received or been offered scholarships, it is helpful to gather the award letters prior to filling this out so you can report accurate information.

1.   Every year seniors across the district complete the survey even if they did not receive any scholarship or grant offers.

2.      Why do you have to ask me questions about scholarships?

Poway Unified School District collects data every year on how many scholarship dollars are offered to our high school students.  We ask you to report any scholarship you were offered, even if you didn’t accept it.  For instance, if University of Arizona offered you $3000 per year but you decided to attend University of Oregon, we still need you to report the amount you were offered by U of A.  

Remember, scholarships are any funds that colleges/universities/organizations offer you that you don’t have to pay back.  Your financial aid package may refer to them as “awards” or “grants.”  You may also report Pell Grants and Cal Grants. See us in the Sun Center if you aren’t sure if you’ve been offered scholarships or not.  

3. What do you mean by “renewable” scholarships?

Renewable scholarships are those that a university, college or organization offers you that are “renewable” for each year you are enrolled in college.  For instance, a $2000 “renewable” scholarship is typically worth a total of $8000 over the course of your 4-years in college.
