We accomplished a lot in 2016! We registered over 1,000 new voters and created and distributed a proposition guide to educate folks on how California’s 17 propositions would affect the Black community. We also held our Sister’s @ Eight breakfast forum every month for the community to come out and discuss the issues we face and the possible strategies for moving forward. Oh, and we held free healthy cooking classes, diabetes prevention classes and other educational events weekly.
However, none of the work we've done would have been possible without the support of our amazing volunteers. Looking forward towards 2017, it will be necessary for us to build a committed team of volunteers in order for us to accomplish all of our goals.
There are many different ways for you to engage with BWW as a volunteer. You could help us plan our next conference, lead our youth education programs, call members of the community to survey them on issues they find important, or come into the office once a week to help with administrative tasks. Whatever your interests and talents may be, we will work with you to find a volunteer opportunity that will be mutually beneficial to us both.
Please fill out the form below to tell us a little bit more about yourself and how you would like to help out at BWW. After you submit the form, our Volunteer Coordinator, Trevis Joyner, will get in touch with you shortly to discuss our current volunteer opportunities.
Thank you in advance, Black Women for Wellness
