CDSS grants support events and projects that feature participatory dance, music, or song in:
- creating new music, dance, and song events (including series, weekends, and week-long programs)
- boosting existing series or events
- training callers, musicians, singers, and organizers (including equity and anti-racism training)
- encouraging youth involvement
- publishing instruction materials (print, web, audio, video)
- conducting and disseminating research on traditional dance, music, and/or song
- creating related endeavors that will have a lasting effect on dance, music, and song communities
- attending non-CDSS programs for training purposes
These funds are available for program-related expenses (callers, musicians, workshop leaders, etc.) rather than operational expenses (publicity, supplies, etc.).
If you have questions about whether your project is a good fit for funding, please email
resources@cdss.org before filling out this application. This form has no time limits and will auto-save as you go (just be sure to click submit at the very end!). Thank you!
