Navigating NOVA: An Orientation
At the Navigating NOVA: An Orientation sessions, you will meet with academic advisors and faculty, connect with other new Nighthawks, register for classes, and get your student ID card. Our program is designed to prepare you for the college transition and equip you with the necessary tools to thrive in your academic purists and to introduce you to the vast array of resources and services.

We will be hosting various orientation sessions tailored to help you get acquainted with your degree and/or major, our campus and culture, college policies, academic success, and how to build a supportive network among your peers. Throughout our programming and activities, we aspire to cultivate an initial sense of community and belonging that can grow throughout your time at NOVA.

All new incoming students at the NOVA Loudoun Campus are highly encouraged to attend one of our in-person orientation sessions in July or August.

We are excited to welcome you to the NOVA Nighthawk family!

Event Timeline:
Our program of events will begin with a welcome at the NOVA Loudoun Campus Waddell Theater located in LW 115. The welcome will be delivered by our esteemed faculty and staff members who will delve into important topics such as class registration, financial aid, scholarships, advising, student clubs and life, parking passes, and much more!

Following the welcome, students will be divided up by areas of interest and/or academic studies. Each academic division will host specialized sessions that will cover information about majors, careers, transfer credits and guaranteed admissions agreements, and support services. Woven through the entire Orientation will be activities such as ice breakers, engaging questions, and trivia.

At the end of the orientation, there will be a campus tour and registration lab where students can register for classes and talk with an academic advisor.

All orientation sessions are free to attend and will be hosted on the NOVA Loudoun Campus, 21200 Campus Drive, Sterling, VA 20164

Free Parking in Student Lot 1.
