Prayerfully consider giving back to God by becoming engaged in the work of our Basilica parish. Some of these ministries may require as little as an hour of your time each month while other might involve a greater commitment. Whatever your intention, we have a place for you here at St. Michael's! Please indicate below the ministries about which you wish to learn more. Orientation and training will be provided where needed for each ministry.

Liturgical Ministries

There are many ways to be a part of celebrating the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Fr. Fowler is asking that everyone be a part of one of the following ministries connected with our Basilica celebration of the Mass:

Altar Server - Serving at the Altar during Mass

Choir - Singing in our Sunday Mass Choirs

Collection Counters - Assist with counting the collection on Monday mornings (Credit Check required)

Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion - Assisting with Distributing Communion

Homily Posting - Editing the computer files and posting the audio stream of Homilies

Lector - Proclaiming the Readings

Sacristan - Assisting with setting up at Mass and caring for the Sacred Vessels

Streaming Technician - Working with the streaming equipment during Mass

Ushers & Greeters - Welcoming People to the Church and Taking the Collection

Veronica Guild Ministries

Service is a vital part of our call to discipleship. Please consider taking part in one or more of the following teams of service offered by our parish:

Bereavement - Reaching out to grieving parishioners and facilitating the Basilica bereavement Mass.

Honoring Life - Promoting the dignity of all human life, especially through our "Fridays for Life"

Military Outreach - Helping local military feel at home at St. Michael's

New Parishioner Team - Welcoming, interacting with, and befriending new members of the Basilica parish

Outreach to the Poor - Working with the impoverished in our local community

Parishioners@Home - "Adopting" homebound or isolated parishioners to call and visit

Prison Ministry - Writing and/or visiting inmates and assisting with retreats

Visitor Outreach - Reaching out to the Basilica's many visitors from all over the world

Education & Evangelization Ministries

Teaching and Speaking to others about our Faith is one of the ways that we imitate Christ. Reaching out to those who do not know Christ is at the heart of Christianity. Check the box(es) below to learn more about these important ministry teams:

Docents - A team of parishioners dedicated to leading guided tours of the Basilica as needed.

"Friends of the Basilica" - Organize this new program for inviting our visitors to support the Basilica from near and far.

Guardian Ministry - Being present during our Saturday morning opening of the Basilica to welcome visitors.

Office Aids - Volunteer to assist the parish office as needed.

RCIA Team - Sponsoring and working with those interested in joining the Catholic Church.

Social Media Outreach - Facilitating the presence of the Basilica and our ministries "online".

Community Building Ministries

We are not meant to be alone; we need the support of friends and fellow parishioners. Consider becoming a part of these life-giving organizations sponsored at St. Michael's:

The Knights of Columbus - For the men of our parish

Our Lady's Sodality - For the women of our parish

Womens' Study Group - Wednesday morning study and fellowship group
