Whiplash Smartphone Film Challenge 2018 Entry Form

OFFICIAL CHALLENGE EMAIL:
ELIGIBILITY: The Whiplash Smartphone Film Challenge is open to participants aged 0-25, in groups no larger than 8 members. Individuals or small groups may request to be paired with other participants. Participants must complete and submit a film no longer than 2 minutes in length within the allotted 5 hours, including an element from a prompt, shot with only a smartphone. Music used in films must be original or be obtained from a royalty-free service.
RESOURCES: On the day of the competition, the following resources will be available to competitors:
- Snacks and beverages will be provided throughout the day
- iMac computers equipped with iMovie editing software (competitors may bring their own computer)
- Technical assistance from experienced filmmakers
- Intro lecture introducing basic filmmaking techniques and tips from 11:30 AM-12:00 PM on day of competition.
JUDGING GUIDELINES: Submitted films will be categorized into two age groups, ages 0-13, and ages 14-25, based on the average of the ages of group members. Films will be judged by a panel using the following rubric:

PRIZES: All prizes come in the form of gift cards to the Princeton Garden Theater. Winning films will be screened at the end of the challenge.
FEE: There is no fee to enter.
NOTE: Groups of more than one individual need only register once.
