Volunteer Positions Available
Saturday, October 5th
- Venue Set Up - Heavy lifting position. This position requires setting up of signage, cones, speakers, tents, tables, etc. Rain or shine! We can easily place small groups of people together making it a team friendly activity.
- Registration - We will open registration on Saturday afternoon. This is a position for someone who is friendly, organized, and works well under pressure! This position requires standing for long periods of time.
- Course Set Up - This is a versatile position. We need help tying rope to weights and buoys on land. Then we need folks to drop the weighted buoys in the river and make sure they are appropriately placed for a competitive race course. Seeking launch drivers and knot tyers!
- Parking Attendants - Looking for a few volunteers to walk the length of the boulevard and assist with trailer parking needs as trailers come into the venue. Lots of walking required or even bring your bike!
- Safety Marshall on the water - We would love for teams to be able to practice safely on Saturday from 12p - 5p. Must have launch driving experience. We are seeking coaches or folks with experience in water rescue.
Sunday, October 6th - Race Day
- Parking Attendants - Volunteers needed to manage the parking lot at Regatta Field. This position requires a few early morning people and lots of walking. Later morning and early afternoon positions are also available. Parking is exceptionally important as we have thousands of competitors and spectators coming and we need to put them somewhere safely.
- Registration - We will open registration on Sunday morning early. This is a position for someone who is friendly, organized, and works well under pressure! This position requires standing for long periods of time.
- Finish or Start Line - Ever wondered how the timing works at a regatta? Help out with the start or finish area and see for yourself. Positions are on land, under a tent, and seated. Good eye sight is very helpful but we will also have binoculars available. These positions take vigilant focus.
- Distributions - Are you great at organizing and packing? Help us hand out materials for all officials and volunteers in the morning and pack it all away at the end of the day. This position is inside the boathouse and requires some heavy lifting, some light lifting, basically lifting and organizing different things all day! Split shifts are available, meaning early morning or after lunch.
- Announcements/Social Media - Most fun gig at the regatta! Be the voice and DJ for the TRR. Social media posting and playlist playing required.
- Dockmasters - Working the docks at the boathouse or beach is a fun but difficult position. It requires being out in the elements and standing for long periods of time, as well as interacting with coaches and athletes. We are looking for friendly volunteers who work well under pressure. You will be the first official person most rowers and coaches see at our regatta and we want everyone to have a great experience.
- Water Marshals - We need launch drivers and marshals. If you have experience driving boats (launches). Please apply!
- Medals - Would you like to see the happiest rowers of the day? Work the medals tent and hand out the hardware to our athletes! This position takes place under a tent and doesn't require too much heavy lifting (other than the medals) or walking.
