Urban Gardening
Join the PKG Center and explore our local community! We'll be sending a group of students to volunteer with The Food Project, which runs an urban garden in Roxbury, MA.

The Food Project seeks to create a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a sustainable food system. They produce healthy food for residents of the city and suburbs, provide youth leadership opportunities, and inspire and support others to create change in their own communities. Each year they donate thousands of pounds of fresh produce to local hunger relief organizations. They sell the remainder of produce to CSA farm shares and farmers markets. Locally, they promote access to fresh, affordable produce by building raised-bed gardens for residents and organizations, offering garden-based educational programming, and providing opportunities for people to use SNAP/EBT benefits to purchase fresh food.

This event will occur on Sat, TBD from TBD. We coordinate with participants to provide you with T-passes and a meeting location so that the group may travel to The Food Project Together.
