Social Cognition Lab RA Application (NOT CURRENTLY CONSIDERING NEW APPLICANTS)

Welcome to the Social Cognition Lab at UC Davis! We are so happy to about your interest.

What our lab studies: Research in the Social Cognition Lab investigates the cognitive processes underlying social psychology and behavior. We are interested in how people perceive themselves, other people, and groups of people. Much of our research focuses on stereotyping and prejudice. The topics we are studying include: how people acquire stereotypes and prejudice, how stereotypes and prejudice affect our perceptions and memories of other people, the extent to which these biases are efficient or even automatic, and how people may or may not control unwanted stereotypes and prejudices.

Description: Research Assistants (RAs) will be responsible for running experiments in our computer labs. The typical (and ideal) time commitment is at least 6 hours, but this is potentially negotiable based on RA preferences. RAs are expected to work in the lab for at least 2 quarters if they are accepted.

To apply, please provide answers to the questions below. PLEASE NOTE: As of Fall quarter 2025, SOCO is not considering new RAs at this time. Thank you.
