Lesson 3: Ochem: Switching R and S
When rotating a molecule on paper with a stereocenter it is mandatory not to break and reform two different bonds in order to conserve the stereochemistry.
When the configuration is determined with the lowest priority group extending out of the plane of the screen (Atom hits you between the eyes) you must switch the final configuration.
