Volunteer to build Candace Pickens Park!

This October, Jones Park Playground will be rebuilt as Candace Pickens Park! Rebuilding the park will be a community effort! We are looking to get as much help from the community as we can and will be working over five days from October 4th to October 8th, 2023. Please let us know if you can help by filling out your contact details and all dates and times that you'd be available to help.

You are welcome to volunteer as little as one hour, just let us know what dates and times!

Public Relations Coordinators – social media, print, radio, television to get the word out

Volunteer Coordinator – to help organize volunteers and service groups

Childcare Coordinator – providing supervision and fun activities for kids during construction

Food Coordinator – acquiring food from the community for each day of the build

Tools Coordinator – collecting, distributing and maintaining tools for the build

Art and Special Features – coordinate with other creative folks to put an Asheville vibe into the playground
