The Parents as Teachers Program (PAT) at ICCFS Supporting King & Pierce County offers a free home visiting for Black and African American birthing people and families with children ages 0-3. Our program is designed to support families through pregnancy, parenting, and early childhood with care, encouragement, and real tools for success. Here’s what we provide:
💜 One-on-One Home Visits – A friendly and knowledgeable Parent Educator visits you twice a month to talk about parenting and your child’s growth, offering culturally responsive support that helps you parent with confidence and purpose.
💜 Parenting Support & Education – Learn simple, powerful ways to support your child’s learning and development using proven, culturally rooted strategies.
💜 Monthly Parent Support Groups – Join other parents to share, connect, and build community in a safe and supportive space.
💜 Fatherhood Support – Resources encouraging fathers to lead with purpose, nurture, and support their families with confidence.
💜 Child Development & Milestone Support – We’ll help you learn what to expect as your baby grows and offer tips and tools to understand milestones and celebrate your child’s unique growth every step of the way.
💜 Help Finding Resources – We’ll help connect your family to trusted community services toward opportunities that uplift—not limit—your family’s independence and success
✨ Actively Enrolled Families receive free books and toys to support and promote early literacy, child development, and positive parent-child interactions. We also work closely with other organizations to make sure families get access to other baby essentials and any other support they need, even beyond our program.
