JunkLabz Social Media Curator Volunteer Interest Form
Check out our insta! @junklabz
  1. Our need: We want to share the amazing work we are doing in lab to inspire others, keep our transparency, and show how much fun recycling can be.

  2. Our want: In addition to showing our work, we want to talk about other projects that are making strides. As well as demystifying recycling, environmental research, and general climate data. We’d love to have applicants who are  interested in building a writing portfolio, social media portfolio, or conducting research on the state of recycling.

  3. The workload: We aim to meet once a week to discuss new social media posts, reminiscent of a writer’s room meeting. This would have each reporter coming with social post drafts, new social media post ideas, and other articles of interest. The expectation is that you complete at least one draft each week, one idea, and read one new piece of sustainable news.

  4. Future growth: Currently we are a research project but are aiming to establish as a non-profit. We would then be able to pay our reporters a stipend for semester work! We are also looking to expand from social media posts and create articles! Our general energy is informative, transparent, and fun. We don’t want to sugar coat the issues with recycling, but we also don’t want to spread dread. If you want to make meme-y, cringey, silly content as well as informative, eye-opening, inspiring content… join our team!
