We vehemently denounce the role of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank that, together with other private and public lenders, perpetuate a flawed international financial architecture that exacerbates the debt, climate, and economic crises. Together with the governments of the G7 and others in the global North that control these institutions, they must be held accountable for their historical responsibility in aggressively pushing loans even to corrupt and repressive regimes, and imposing harmful conditionalities that keep Global South countries debt-dependent and mal-developed.
As these international financial institutions hold their 2023 annual meetings, let our calls and demands ring out clear, loud and strong from all global regions, for debt justice, climate justice and economic justice!

PARA SUMAR SU FIRMA | Un llamado urgente por la deuda, el clima y la justicia económica
Denunciamos con vehemencia el papel del Fondo Monetario Internacional y del Banco Mundial que, junto con otros prestamistas privados y públicos, perpetúan una arquitectura financiera internacional defectuosa que exacerba las crisis de la deuda, del clima y de la economía. Junto con los gobiernos del G7 y otros en el Norte global que controlan estas instituciones, deben rendir cuentas por su responsabilidad histórica al impulsar agresivamente los préstamos incluso a regímenes corruptos y represivos, e imponer condicionalidades perjudiciales que mantienen a los países del Sur Global dependientes de la deuda y mal desarrollados.
Mientras estas instituciones financieras internacionales celebran sus reuniones anuales de 2023, queremos que nuestras demandas resuenen claros, altos y fuertes, desde todas las regiones del mundo:
