BHP Future of Work Program: Short Course Program Application
The BHP Future of Work Program, led by BHP and the Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE), has been established to provide educational and employment opportunities in regional and remote Australia and meet the demands of the future workforce. The purpose of the Program is to promote the uptake of educational pathways in regional areas, including for those who would otherwise not attend University. The aim is to contribute to the skills development of regional workforces for the future and support local efforts to overcome economic challenges brought about by COVID-19. Applicants will be considered based on their ability to demonstrate alignment to the objectives of the Program.

If you are currently enrolled, or are seeking to enrol, in a short course (Undergraduate Certificate or Graduate Certificate) with a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) at a University or Non-University Higher Education Provider (NUHEP), and reside in one of the regional areas below, you can apply for the opportunity to have your student contribution fees covered. You may also be eligible for assistance relating to other expenses. Please note, you must submit this application to be considered for the Future of Work Program and associated funding support. Funding will only be provided for study undertaken since the commencement of the Program in 2021.

The regional locations include:
- The Bowen Basin and Mackay in Queensland (QLD)
- Upper Spencer Gulf and Roxby Downs in South Australia (SA)
- The Pilbara and the Gold Fields in Western Australia (WA)
- The Hunter Region in New South Wales (NSW).

If you are considering enrolment in a short course, head to www.courseseeker.edu.au to search for courses currently open for enrolment across Australia or alternatively visit a University / Non-University Higher Education Provider's (NUHEP) website.

Please note that you are required to be enrolled, or seeking enrolment, in a short course with a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). We suggest that you reach out to your University / NUHEP to confirm whether you are eligible to receive a CSP for your selected course. Unfortunately, if you do not have a CSP then we cannot approve your application for the Program.

Applicants will be assessed on the extent to which they meet the selection criteria set by the Program coordinators and the Steering Committee reserves the right to not approve applications. For any queries regarding the Program, including future application opportunities, please contact applications@regionalfutureofwork.com or head to https://regionalfutureofwork.com/. We ask you to please regularly check your emails (including your spam folder) as this is our main communication channel with applicants.

Please note that 2022 applications will be processed from mid-January 2022.
