Cross-Disciplinary Conversations V: The 5th Interdisciplinary Student Research Conference, LaGuardia Community College, May 17, 2019.
The LaGuardia Honors Program will sponsor a student research conference that will take place on Friday, May 17th from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. This conference, "Cross-Disciplinary Conversations V," is the fifth interdisciplinary student research conference at LaGuardia. It reflects the disciplinary range of the Honors Program and is meant to inspire conversations across traditional academic divides. Students will have the opportunity to present their work to members of the college community. Faculty will serve as respondents, offering comments on students’ presentations.
We will accept a range of papers, and organize panels with discussants (faculty who will be giving feedback to students about their work). All Honors students are invited to submit an abstract by Friday, May 3rd, 2019. Lunch and reception will follow. All students can also participate in a poster session during the Lunch, and prizes will be given to the best posters.
An abstract is a description of the main points you will make in your paper. We are asking for abstracts here that are about 200 words. Please explain what your paper is about, what your argument or intervention is, and what evidence you use to support your claims.
