Maine Parents: Has your student engaged in dangerous online activity at school?

Help Us Protect Maine’s Students — Share Your Story Anonymously.

___

The Turn the Tide Coalition is gathering stories from families across Maine to better understand how school-issued devices and personal cell phones are being used by students to access dangerous or inappropriate content during the school day. Do you have a story you would be willing to share?

This confidential survey is in response to a recent e-mail from superintendents across the region warning of a threat involving extremist groups targeting children online. We believe it’s critical to document real-world examples of similar threats and other dangerous activity happening on school-issued devices, as well as on personal cell phones while at school. These stories will help us advocate for stronger protections and stricter monitoring of digital devices at school, not just at home.

We invite you to share your experience, anonymously if you wish. Your voice can help drive meaningful change.

We will keep your information private by protecting the specifics of your story.

*Note:  information regarding your kids/ other students access to YouTube, Facebook, X, TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Telegram, Twitch, Discord, Roblox, Minecraft and other similar games and platforms during the school day on a school issued device is also helpful. It doesn’t have to rise to the level of dangerous.

Briefly tell us about the incident. (How old is your child? Did it involve a school-issued device, or a personal cell phone? Did the incident take place at school, or on a school-issued device at home? What happened, and how did this incident impact your child or your family?)

Please also tell us how you would like to protect the anonymity of your child in relaying this story.
