REFORMA Los Angeles is pleased to announce a $300 El día de los niños/El día de los libros Mini-Grant

Per the Association for Library Services to Children (ALSC), El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day), known as Día, is a celebration EVERY DAY of children, families, and reading that culminates every year on April 30. The celebration emphasizes the importance of advocating literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

REFORMA Los Angeles Día de los Libros/Día de los Niños 2019 Mini-Grant details:

Purpose:
Increase the public’s awareness of the El día de los niños/El día de los libros (DNDL) program in Los Angeles County
Develop materials and programs that can be a model in other communities.
Expand the number of public and school libraries participating in the DNDL program.

Guidelines:
One $300 mini-grant will be awarded to a public or school library to implement a new DNDL event or to add to an existing DNDL event. The objective of the event must emphasize the importance of advocating literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
The DNDL event must be held between April 15th and May 15th, 2019
In order to be eligible, public and school libraries must be within Los Angeles County.
Mini-grant winner must agree that publicity of their event will identify REFORMA Los Angeles as sponsor/partial sponsor.
Winners must be willing to have their program featured in our website both in written and photographic detail.

To apply for a mini-grant:
Complete the online application by March 22, 2019
Grant recipients will be notified by March 29, 2019 by email. Additionally, their names will be posted on our website and our social media.
