CalCITE 2026 Pre-Registration

The California Contact Improv Teacher's Exchange 2026 is July 7th-9th, in the lovely Finnish Hall in Berkeley, CA: three days of labbing, research, dancing, and discourse with our vibrant teaching community!

CalCITE is a space for people who are invested in teaching, researching, sharing & developing Contact Improvisation (CI) and related practices. Rolling admission, first come first served.

Please help us integrate more of your input by pre-registering early! As this is a community-led cost-share event, we have Work Exchange (WEX), BIPOC scholarships, and tiered payment options. 

EARLY BIRD (pre-register by April 15th):

• Regular: $185
• Supporter: $250
• Low Income: $155

REGULAR (after April 15th)

• Regular: $215
• Supporter: $280
• Low Income: $185

Note: We welcome participants from around the world. We are not organizing housing, but will provide a community-organized spreadsheet to support communication among participants for ride-share and home-share later in May.

CalCITE is a Teachers Exchange, intended for experienced Contact Improvisation (CI) practitioners who either already have a teaching practice, or who are trying to establish a teaching practice of their own. 

We ask that participants have either:

• 10+ hours of CI teaching experience (classes, warm-ups, one-on-ones, etc)

OR

• 5+ years of CI experience, with a strong desire to teach

CalCITE is a community-organized cost-share event. Profits (if any) will support future CalCITE events, including scholarships and work exchange options.
We cannot provide meals, housing, or transportation, but will send out a community spreadsheet for people to connect with each other. We will provide snacks again!

any access needs that you have, including but not limited to mobility, translation or description services, and allergies/sensitivities. If you can only join part of the time, sharing your schedule would help us with our planning too.

*If you are applying to Work Exchange, please share more about yourself and your situation below. We'll ask for a $50 deposit to hold your place – this will be fully refunded after completion of Work Exchange: supporting the event through a few small tasks, which might include cleaning, scribing, setting up snacks, closing the space, publicizing the event, etc. 

**If you are applying for the POC and/or Marginalized Groups Full Scholarship, please share more about yourself and your situation
 below. We are prioritizing scholarships for people who are underrepresented in our community. We'll ask for a $50 deposit to hold your place – this will be fully refunded after your attendance at the festival.
