Artist Callout: PACT Salon: SLURP! curated by Carla Zimbler and Mikaela Stafford
Want to be a part of the first PACT Salon of 2019? We are on the look out for early career performance, movement, sound, visual and media artists to join a stellar line up of artists whose works trigger and stimulate our senses.
What is PACT Salon: SLURP! about?
SLURP! is an exploration of sensory response and nostalgia, engaging with the five senses to fully engage and immerse the body in a liminal space. It encourages self-discovery, asking the audience to peer inwards, meditate on sensations of touch, taste, sight, smell and sound as they weave between A/V chambers that inspire dialogue and emotional connectedness. SLURP! is both a study of sensory processing and an environment that provides sanctum from external noise and visual disturbance.
We are looking for:
- Performance artists who engage with food, semi-solid forms and liquid as a medium
- Dancers who explore 'sensory input/sensory processing' and improvisation in their work
- Sculptors or designers who utilise soft textiles and explore tactility in their practice
- Sound/Video artists interested in creating a site-specific sonic or visual experience

First Nations peoples, female identifying and non-binary artists are encouraged to apply.

We are open to applications for completed works or ideas that will be ready to go for the first PACT Salon of 2019 on the 16th of March. Please note this is a paid opportunity - fee to be negotiated with the curators.

Applications close 5pm Friday 8th Feb 2018.
