CHAS Conference Proposal Submission Form
Join us for the 2024 Consortium on High Achievement & Success (CHAS) Students of Color Leadership Conference hosted by the Tri-Co Consortium (Bryn Mawr College, Haverford College, and Swarthmore College) on April 5th-7th 2024. This year, the conference theme, "Renaissance: In the Wake of (Re)imaginings, Movements, and Joy," aims to celebrate movements, creativity, and resilience. Our conference is a welcoming space geared towards students from our CHAS member institutions. It's dedicated to acknowledging and amplifying the joy that exists within these communities.

Please complete the form below by midnight on February 25th, 2024 to submit a proposal for a 50 minute session that focuses on ideas of identity, healing and transformation, joy, and other topics that fit within the theme of Renaissance: In the wake of (Re)imaginings, Movements, & Joy. Proposals need to take up the theme through the lens of one of the following tracks:
  1. Joy and rest as resistance: (Re)envisioning wellness, self-care, and resilience
  2. Artivism, sound, and movements: (Re)fashioning the ways we organize and advocate for change
  3. (Re)imagining what’s possible for ourselves, our institutions, our communities, and our world
The format for the 50 minute session can be a:
  • Workshop - facilitated by one or more people who present on a specific topic and/or question. These can include presentations, interactive activities, and small/large group discussions.
  • Panel - comprised of multiple presenters who discuss their distinct perspectives and/or experiences about a specific topic. We highly recommend including a facilitator who can ask questions, highlight (dis)connections, and assist in moving the conversation along.
The proposal committee is seeking submissions that are:
  • Relevant and fit into the theme of the conference and one of the aforementioned tracks
  • Engaging, interactive, and include time for Q & A
  • Clear, concise, and includes a description that clearly articulates the presenter's ideas, plan for their session, strategies/methods they will employ, and activities they will incorporate
  • Focused on the needs of students or staff of color
*Student submissions are welcome and encouraged*

Please email hc-sdea@haverford.edu with any questions. Thanks so much!
