Dyke March 2022 Performer & Speaker Application
Date: Saturday, June 25
Time: Rally is 5-7pm; March is 7-8pm
Where: Seattle Central College Plaza, Capitol Hill
The committee is a politically engaged and community-oriented group of volun-queers.
We reserve our stage for queer women and dyke-identified people across the gender spectrum (this means every member of the group). We welcome and encourage spectators of all genders and identities to join us in celebration. Because there is limited time and space on our stage, we want to make sure our performers represents the incredible diversity within the identity of queer women and dyke-identified folks (inclusively defined). We want to amplify the creativity of Black, Latinx, Asian, and Native, and all the the compounding, overlapping and expansive identities of queer women and dyke-identified folks of color. We want to spotlight queer women and dyke-identified people with disabilities.
Performance time may vary based on type of performance, but we generally expect performers to have 10-15 minutes and speakers to have 3-5. We are able to pay the following amounts: Performers (individual or group): $100; Speakers (can be made as donation to representative organization): $50.
We are excited to be able to honor the real labor of the people in our community and not rely on the ability to volunteer time for our event. We are also committed to encouraging people to tip performers through your Venmo/Cashap/paypal, or even cash.
