The planet is facing wrenching changes within our lifetimes. A near total consensus amongst climate scientists is that greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced promptly; yet this is not happening. At the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) meeting on Monday Night 10/21/19 over 70 people discussed the actions a neuroscientist can take.
- What about our travel?
- How can we build a community for discussion?
- How can we incorporate the climate crisis into our teaching and research?
- How can we advocate within our institutions?
- How can we support grassroots advocacy and legislation?
- Above all, how can we engage in COLLECTIVE ACTION to DECARBONIZE?
October 31st 2019 update: there is now a formal petition to SfN to decarbonize its meeting - if you are a sometime member you can add your name here
