This year, the scholarship has the ability to assist in registration fees, in hopes to expand access to those who might not be able to attend otherwise due to financial reasons. Unruly Women prioritizes support for individuals who have been historically excluded and underrepresented in outdoor spaces.
This year, the scholarship is $500 towards your mountain biking retreat. There is no travel stipend this year, due to stretching the scholarship fund in hopes to be able to assist more people.
Please keep in mind that for all Unruly Women mountain biking retreats....
- All individuals must be able to bike safely, beginners to expert riding levels are welcome.
- All individuals are responsible for their own transportation - including all travel to and from the retreat location.
- All individuals are responsible for their own transportation to the Tioga and Redhead trailheads during the October Retreat at Mallard Point Resort.
- We will be able to bike from our retreat location in September at ROAM, therefore transportation is only required to/from ROAM adventure basecamp.
- All individuals must have their own gear for the retreats - whether rented or otherwise - full gear list provided prior to retreat. Bike and helmet rentals can be made at New Moon Bike Shop in Hayward, WI for the September retreat at ROAM, or at Ardent bike shop in Grand Rapids, MN for the October retreat at Mallard Point Resort.
- This scholarship is for $500 towards your mountain bike retreat, you will still be responsible for the remaining portion (depending on which retreat / location you choose) and any rentals you may need.
