October 6 Robot Badge Program - Volunteer Form
Calling the Robot Garden community, high school Girl Scout robotics teams, and local robot enthusiasts:

Volunteer to share your love of robotics! Spend a Saturday leading a table of 7-10 girls (and their adult chaperones) as they earn three, progressive Girl Scout robotics badges. Introduce girls to key concepts in robotics with fun, hands-on activities using the provided activities and materials. Most of the badge steps are "unplugged" activities, so you don't need to be a robotics expert. Girls will spend ~30 minutes programming Lego Mindstorms.

BONUS: Volunteers are encouraged to bring their favorite robot(s) for the "Showcasing Robots" badge, where girls get a chance to see robots in action, including learning about robotics teams and competitions.

DESCRIPTION
Get ready for robots! With your assistance, girls will earn all three progressive robotics badges: Programming, Designing, and Showcasing Robots. Supported by your enthusiasm for robots, they'll learn how to "talk" to a robot with algorithms, imagine a useful robot, build and share their prototype design, and see real robots in action.

PREPARATION
Volunteers are asked to read the Volunteer Activity Guide (to be provided) in advance and attend a 90-minute training session in September, available either in person
- on Saturday, 9/27 from 10-11:30a
- or as a recorded webinar
