Would you like to borrow a stack of books handpicked by a librarian? We’d love to choose some books for you! A KFL library card is required.

Picture books: Designed for ages 0-8, but can be enjoyed by anyone. Example: "Pete the Cat" series by Kimberly and James Dean.
Easy Readers: Designed for emergent readers who are starting to read independently. Also called "leveled readers". Example: "Frog and Toad" by Arnold Lobel.
First Chapter Books: Designed for readers who are between Easy Readers and Chapter Books; short chapters and illustrations. Example: "Magic Tree House" series by Mary Pope Osborne.
Chapter Books: Generally designed for readers in grades 4-6 who are comfortable reading independently, or for a read-aloud with a younger reader. Example: "Charlotte's Web" by E.B. White.
Graphic Novels: Designed for various ages, these books tell their stories using a combination of text and images. Example: "Dog Man" series by Dav Pilkey.
Non-fiction: Informational text for various ages.
