The AVID program is a four-year college preparatory program (“G” Elective) designed to prepare students for challenging coursework in a college readiness path to gain admission to four-year colleges and universities.

Over the course of 4 years, the AVID elective course aims to provide students with the skills needed to be successful in advancing academically with the ultimate goal of attending college.

AVID recruits students who are motivated to do well and who are serious about their academic future. Based on grade point average, we feel that your child is an ideal candidate for the AVID program at CHS and has been selected to participate in the recruitment process.  Please complete the application, family information, and short answers to help us better know you and family circumstances.

Please note that there is limited space in our AVID program. Students will be selected based on their aptitude and desire for the program, determination, parent education level, progress in middle school, an interview, and/or teacher or counselor recommendation.

1. Your application will be reviewed once received.
2. Students who have turned in completed and on time applications will then be scheduled for and given an interview time sent via email in March.
3. Decisions will be made and shared with you by early April.
