The Movement for Sport Equity is partnering with the Aspen Institute to run programming for regional coalitions/collaborations during the 2021 Project Play Summit. The programming will consist of an hour-long panel discussion during the Summit, on October 20, and a post conference event to be held on October 21.

The conference session will feature four regional collaborative organizations who will share their knowledge and learning about topics such as building a coalition, governance, local and regional advocacy, and centering equity in collaborative efforts.
 
The post conference session will be half-day Zoom event and will provide regional collaborations from around the country the opportunity to reflect on their learning from the Summit and engage in discussion and action planning for mobilizing their local communities.

Groups of people from the same region (at least 2, no more than 12) will register for Aspen's Project Play Summit, and will indicate their interest in joining the conference and post-conference sessions. The post-conference session is not designed for individuals; the session is for groups of people engaged in collective action in a city or region to address issues of equity in youth sports and physical activity. The groups can be newly formed or well-established. Examples of groups that will be attending include the Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative, a 5 year old organization with 50 members, and the Lawrence Sports Leadership Collaborative, an emerging organization. As regions consider who to bring together for this session, they might think about engaging a range of stakeholders across the youth sport and physical activity landscape: parks and recreation, schools and school districts, direct service organizations and sports programs, businesses, the medical community, and pro teams are ones to consider.

The regional collectives can join the post-conference session virtually (and do their discussion through breakout rooms) or - where feasible and safe - groups can join the virtual post-conference gathered together in person.
