Bear Hole Nature Walk: 11-4-17
Adults and families with children are welcomed to join naturalist Tammy Olszewski for an interpretative nature walk beginning at the Bear Hole Rd parking lot. Saturday, Nov 4, 2017, 11am.

Take Dewey Street, West Springfield to the end of Bear Hole Road.

Tammy will lead participants on a 1 mile round-trip walk on easy terrain (1/2 mile each way). Participants will be welcomed to ask questions about the natural world around them, as well as enjoy the explanations of interesting finds along the way. Participants will follow an easy terrain, maintained woodland trail that navigates through Bear Hole's forest while enroute to the glen of the historic Bear Hole restaurant where everyone will explore along Paucatuck Brook, abutting woodlands and along the edge of the reservoir. The fun of it is you don't know what will be discovered or maybe you always had a question about something you routinely see and hope Tammy can provide an answer. Dialogue will be fun and energetic. Questions are highly encouraged.

This event is suitable for children age 6 and older, however younger children are welcomed. Parents please use your best judgement. All young children must be supervised. Adults who enjoy shorter treks are encouraged to attend.

We love pets, but for this event we ask they be left at home.

If you have wanted to bring your children to one of our events, but feel what we normally host is too intense or if you are an adult who prefers shorter treks, this event is for you!

Event is free, but pre-registration is requested by November 3rd. Volunteers will be on site to park cars. Please do not park yourself and do not park on Bear Hole Rd. We want to be respectful to the neighbors. Dress appropriately, including footwear. No open toed shoes. Arrive early for a prompt 11am start. You do not need to print this form. We will access electronically. Hosted by the West Springfield Environmental Committee, a civic, charitable non-profit group.
