YIPPS TRIP - November Bike Tour

Hello YIPPS members

Come join us on Saturday November 6th for a local YIPPS DC bike excursion. We'll be exploring a number of new development projects, plans, and community issues from Capitol Hill to the SW Waterfront.

A tentative schedule for the trip is below. If you don't own a bike and would still like to attend, you should plan on arriving about 20-30 minutes early to rent your bike from Bike and Roll located in the bike station at Union Station. Please RSVP as soon as possible. We will send out a final itinerary once we get a tally of those who will be attending.

Tentative Schedule
1. Meet up at the Bike Station at Union Station 10am

2. Pennsylvania Ave Bike Lanes
DDOT will provide an overview how bike lanes down America's main street became a reality
3. NCPC 10th Street SW Corridor Eco District
Diane Sullivan from NCPC will provide an overview of an exciting new planning effort designed to restore and enhance the corridor into a national showcase for sustainability.
4. SW Waterfront Wharf
PN Hoffman representatives will talk about their exciting development proposals to reconnect DC to the water
5. The Yards and Near Southeast
Michael Stevens with the Capitol Riverfront BID will provide an overview of how the Yards and other projects are transforming the near southeast neighborhood.
6. Capitol Hill Community Garden or Kingman Island (Tentative)
7. Capitol Bike Share stop
Learn about the region's new bike sharing system from DDOT and efforts to expand the bike sharing system from MWCOG
7. Visit H Street NE - Atlas District
Relax with a beer after a long ride and hear from Joe Englert, developer, restauranter, about his vision for the neighborhood and his experience opening some of DC's newest and most creative establishments.
