Volunteers at Photo Kathmandu will get an up-close and hands-on experience of how a large international arts and culture festival is organized. They will be exposed to high quality works of art from international artists, as well as to their working practices and philosophies (at artist talks and panels). Young people, especially those interested in ideas of gender, sexuality, power and patriarchy (the curatorial framework of this edition), will get to engage deeply with such issues through specific works from some of the leading artists exploring such topics.
Volunteers will work with the core festival team in setting up the print exhibitions at their respective venues before the opening. During the festival, they will be stationed at the venues to help visitors engage with the exhibitions. They will also need to run errands as needed.
The work will require an assortment of physical work, and a flexibility regarding working hours. We’d love for our volunteers to be available throughout the festival. Ideal volunteers will be flexible and adaptable, and have FUN doing the work. :D
A daily stipend will be provided.
The exhibitions at Photo Kathmandu will be up for 5 weeks - from 12th October to 16th November. We would require your time from 10th Oct - 20 Nov.
* We will have some days off for Dashain and Tihar.
