It’s that much awaited time of the year again where we are getting ready for Barossa Christian Life Week 2017!
We would love for you to consider offering up your time to lead on camp this year. Camp is in July, from the 10th-14th at Unity College, Murray Bridge.
In Twenty-Sixteen, BVCLW explored Kingdom Come: Here as in Heaven, learning what it looks like to be a citizen of God’s Kingdom. In Twenty-Seventeen, we aim to build on this knowledge, investigating the following practical steps in Kingdom Construction.
BVCLW17’s camp is titled The Uprising. Christians are saved by grace alone, and are called to partake in God’s reconciliation of the world back to Him. The world needs Jesus. Societies need love. Churches need keeping. The Gospel needs preaching. People need healing. We need God. And God chose us. As a Citizen of the King, Warriors in the army of God, Christians must unashamedly rise up and take the reality of Jesus against the tide of secular society.
Isaiah 60:1-3 will be a key scripture for the week. Isaiah calls God’s people into action, reminding them that the Lord is empowering them to be the light against the current darkness in the world.
If you are interested in participating on camp this year, we ask that you reflect on two key aspects of a Christian leader’s life before committing to the ministry for 2017.
Firstly, if you agree to lead on Barossa CLW this year you are not only accepting the responsibility of leading young people to Jesus for that week, but instead living a Christ like life all year round. It is encouraged that you attempt to follow up with your small group after camp, continually praying for them and encouraging them along their faith journey.
Secondly, we would appreciate you reflecting on your relationship with Jesus, and where you are in your walk with Him. We acknowledge that no one is perfect, however we believe that intentional self-reflection can bring clarity into your relationship with God. It is difficult to serve on a camp when your relationship with God is suffering. Leading on camp should be a calling from God, and we really encourage you to pray about this!
Before you go any further we ask that you set aside some time to personally answer or give some thought to the following questions.
What difference do I want to make in the young people’s lives on this camp?Am I excited and passionate about camp? What are my gifts that I can bring to this camp, and how can I grow them? What is my motivation for being a leader on this camp? What are my fears about leading on CLW and how am I overcoming them?Am I growing my relationship with God and my heart for the campers leading up to this camp?
