2023 Buy Nearby Grant Application

Description | Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) through its on-going public service awareness campaign, Buy Nearby, has created a new grant program to help you in promoting the Buy Nearby message in your local community. We will award $7,500 to one Northern Michigan community located in the Mackinac, Cheboygan, Presque Isle, Emmet, or Charlevoix counties

The intent of this program is to help inform your communities that if Michigan residents redirected 10% of their estimated $30.3B in out-of-state spending, Michigan would gain $2.2B in gross economic output and $1.2B in increased economic activity, create more local jobs, and healthier communities.

What we are looking for | We are looking for out-of-the-box marketing strategies that drive business back to your retailers.

Customized Marketing Campaign | The grant is designed to help communities use out-of-the-box marketing strategies that drive business back to downtowns and business districts.

All proposals must be submitted before 5 p.m. on August 15, 2023 to be considered.

MRA is partnering with Great Lakes Michigan Jobs to provide this grant to a selected community program.
