The program is structured as a 8-week long commitment, with 4-6 practicing architect volunteers visiting a single classroom once a week for the duration of one class period (75-120 minutes). The curriculum consists of an introduction to architecture and design, design exercises, a final group project, and a field trip.
This fall we will be teaching in Cameron Elementary (Humbolt Park), Whittier Elementary (Pilsen) and Gunsaulus Elementary (Brighton Park). We are looking for lead mentor and assistant mentor positions. Co-lead mentors are welcome. All sessions will begin the last week of September, in the morning, and run 8 weeks.
