Open Letter to Leicester City Council: "Save Our Trees"
We are asking Leicester City Council to abandon plans to cut down 21 mature trees in St George’s churchyard. We believe that the church could be protected and that the churchyard could be developed into a welcoming and accessible public space without losing so many trees.

Urban trees provide a habitat for the insects, birds and animals that share our city. They clean the air and they improve everybody’s wellbeing by allowing the natural world to creep into our concrete jungle. Trees are important and we want to live in a city that recognises that and cherishes our trees.

We ask the Council to listen to the concerns that have been raised and reconsider the planning application.
