The 2023 All-School Prom will be held Friday May 19th at Lacuna Lofts, located at 2150 S Canalport Ave. The hours of the event are from 7:00 pm - 10:30 pm.
Parents, please read and discuss the following information with your student:
Students who arrive later than 8:00 pm will not be allowed entrance to the event.
All purses and bags will be searched by Academy faculty/staff prior to entrance. Purses and bags will be stored in a holding room during the event.
Any liquids brought to the event by the student will be poured out at the door.
A parent or guardian must be designated as an emergency contact for the event, and must provide a phone number where they can be reached.
The emergency contact will be notified by phone if the student does not arrive by 8:00 pm.
Families will not be notified if the child leaves Prom before 10:30 pm.
Any student who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be admitted to (or will be removed from) Prom and the emergency contact will be required to pick up their child immediately at Lacuna Lofts.
Families are responsible for knowing how their child will arrive at and depart from the Prom. The Academy will not provide or arrange for transportation. There is a gated parking lot behind Lacuna located just off 21st Street (opposite Alivio Medical Centre), it is paid - $3 per hour or $12 for 8 hours. There is also free street parking on 21st and Morgan. Drop off at 2150 S Canalport, the entrance is signified by two purple LED strips either side of the door.
Students are allowed to leave Prom on their own at any time. Once they leave the venue, they will not be allowed back in.
If you are picking up your student from Prom, please arrive promptly by 10:30 pm.
Faculty and Staff chaperones will be dismissed from supervision duties promptly at 10:45 pm.
Prom is an Academy-sanctioned event and all rules detailed in the School Handbook are in effect.
Food and drink will be provided during the event, however food will be cocktail hour appetizers, not a formal meal. We recommend students eat before the event. The following menu items will be provided:
- Apple Juice, Orange Juice, Lemonade, Iced Tea, Sparkling Grape Juice & Water
- Sliders - American cheese, house-made dill pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mustard
- Grilled Cheese - truffled brioche grilled Cheese, brie
- Portobello Mushroom Sandwich - avocado, grilled peppers & onions, pickled
- chilis, red pepper sauce, wheat bun (v)
- Homemade chips and Sweet potato chips
- Tortilla chips served with guacamole and pineapple salsa
- Mixed Green Salad - roasted corn, queso fresco, avocado, tortilla strips, cilantro-lime vinaigrette
- Carne Asada Tacos & Chicken Al Pastor - toppings of pico de gallo, crumbled queso fresco, shredded lettuce, tomatillo, salsa & crema
