Thank you so much for your interest of teaching a workshop at the Chesapeake Herb Gathering, we truly appreciate it! We are excited to co-create in community a weekend full of amazing knowledge, art, community and more!

We are unable to take timing requests for workshop slots. All of our teachers/performers receive free attendance to the gathering. In the spirit of building community we ask that all teachers plan to attend the entire event, show up to support other folks workshops, please don't show up for yours and leave, and we ask folks help spread the word to their online newsletter and social media networks!

Deadline for proposals is March 20, 2020. We thank you for your interest and plan to make final decisions by Late Spring 2020 (but hopefully before), we will email you if your proposal is selected - due to the amount of proposals we receive we are not able to email those who are not selected.

Please note that while we always know that teachers will share their authentic knowledge and stories, we are committed to created an inclusive space for our community. We ask that workshop be inclusive in their content and language in creating welcoming space for folks identifying from varies racial and culture background as well as honoring our Trans LGBTQIA+ family. Please consider this before submitting an application for a workshop and topic. Please be aware that teachers be particularly aware of cultural appropriate when considering what they come to share over the weekend.

Important Info:

Workshops:
Workshops are one hour and 15 minutes and will take place all day Saturday September 19. We encourage creative workshops on a wide range of earth based, herbal, healing, liberation, farming, and more. ranging from practical skills in herbalism, youth activities, farming, seedsaving, story telling, birth work, performance, decolonizing herbalism, plant walks, to theory. We love creative ideas! All workshops will need to be no-tech and we have no additional budget for materials.

Compensation:
Your name and brief bio will be in our online digital program for attendees and on website! With your acceptance email once selected, please send us one email with your name and CHG Speaker Info in the email title, and include the photo you would like to appear on our site, your brief bio as well as your brief class description. You are welcome to link to your website or contact.

Out of Town Speaker (200 miles or more away from Fox Haven Community Farm)
$75 for your workshop plus travel stipend (please note there is no camping onsite or staying overnight this year)
NEW Travel Stipend - for those who live 200 miles more away from Fox Hall Learning Center we are able to offer an additional $125 travel stipend, so out of town teachers will receive a total of $200

Instead of your $75 honorarium you can opt for an additional guest pass for one registration

Live Music:
We are looking for acoustic performances or those with their own equipment. 1 hour performance sometime between 7-10pm on Saturday band link and description on CHG website as well as digital program that goes to attendees, mention on Wild Ginger/CHG social media, $200 honorarium plus free registration for performers

Is Your Workshop Geared Toward Youth or Adults?
LIVE MUSIC - 1 hour performance , $200 honorarium plus free registration for performers. Live music performance will be a one hour slot sometime between 6:30 & 7:30 pm on Saturday evening, please list the names of performers.

In the spirit of building community we ask that all teachers/performers/artists plan to attend the entire event, showing up to support other speakers and participating in the cocreation of our time together and community. While emergencies happen we ask that you are applying to lead a workshop but also to be part of the full weekend! *Do you plan to attend the full weekend?
We ask that all of our teachers/artists/performers help to promote this event by placing a link on your newsletters, social media, websites and more leading up to the event as well as by spreading the word mouth to mouth. *Is this something you are willing to do?
