Where necessary, we will work to balance openness with appropriate ethical and privacy considerations.

2. Prioritize Transparency and Accountability
We will aim to be transparent in the way our data is collected, processed, and shared. This includes being open and allowing attribution of the sources of data, methods of analysis, and acknowledging any limitations or uncertainties in the data.

3. Collaborate to Advance Nature Knowledge
We recognize that collaboration accelerates progress. We are open to collaborate with other members of the OpenNature initiative, sharing knowledge and resources to collectively advance biodiversity monitoring, conservation, and decision-making.

4. Use Technology Responsibly
We support the ethical and responsible use of technology, including AI and advanced tools, to enhance biodiversity research and conservation. We strive to ensure that technology serves to benefit both people and nature without causing harm.

5. Encourage Local Action and Decision-Making
We recognize the importance of local-scale action and decision-making for effective conservation. We will strive to ensure that the knowledge and data we produce can be applied locally to inform decisions and inspire change at the ground level.

6. Advocate for Openness and Engage and Inspire Others
We advocate for open practices in scientific, technological, and policy domains, encouraging others to adopt open data standards and transparency in biodiversity-related initiatives. We also commit to promoting open data, conservation, and sustainability practices within our networks, encouraging others to take action for the protection of the natural world.
