Mosslands Medical Practice and Dr White and Partners- Merger Consultation Survey

Mosslands Medical Practice
Dr White and Partners

As a patient of one of the above Practices, we are writing to you to let you know that we are commencing a formal consultation about the possibility of merging the three practices into one practice. A merger would mean the practices would have one patient list.

If the merger goes ahead, the Practice will be known as Mosslands Medical Practice
Our aim is to:
• Improve the overall range and quality of services to patients
• Improve access to services
• Improve access to more clinical staff for patients
• Improve patient choice
• Increase GP availability

The merger would also:
• Enable us to provide timely care for patients who require urgent visits to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.

Next steps – tell us your views

We are asking for your views on the merger of the practices, by completing a short survey.

Continuity of care
You will continue to see the GP of your choice, whether this is your existing GP or whether you choose to see another GP. We agree that continuity of care is extremely important to patients. You will not lose this choice.

We will continue to operate from Irlam Medical Centre and Longfield Lodge

New processes
All of our existing processes for booking appointments, requesting prescriptions etc. will remain the same. We will still have the same administration and management team as we do now.

Appointment times and availability
Appointment times will remain the same; we may even be able to offer more flexible clinic times such as lunch time appointments or doing home visits earlier in the day. We have a target in Salford of offering 9% of our patient population in GP appointment slots per week, this will not change. We will still offer book on the day appointments, book in advance appointments, telephone consultations and the new recently introduced online appointments (through the Ask a Doctor section of our website).

There will be 3 GP Partners and 7 Salaried GP’s working for the practice; this will help to build resilience and will enable the team to cross cover, thus reducing the use of Locum GP’s. The Nursing, Administration and Management team will remain the same.

Yours sincerely

Angela Pickering and Kim Corley
