Open Data has become a topic of prominence during the last decade. However, most for-profit, civil society, and governmental organizations have not realized the desired outcomes, which implies that the envisaged value streams are yet to be realized. What mechanisms are affecting the data revolution? Why are the various stakeholders including government, civil society and private sector not releasing their data? What can explain the low demand for data? Where is open data innovation?
The aim of this workshop is to share social-technical, socio-organizational and critical research on open data for development. We hope the workshop will shape a future research agenda and form the basis for future research partnerships.
